Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the FindLankan website, directory, account features, business listings, professional profiles, job listings and related services.
By accessing or using FindLankan, creating an account, submitting a listing or posting a job vacancy, you agree to comply with these Terms and any other policies that apply to the relevant feature, including our Privacy Policy and Listing Guidelines.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not create an account, submit content or continue using features that require acceptance of them.
About FindLankan
FindLankan is an online platform intended to help users discover Sri Lankan businesses, services and professionals across the United Arab Emirates and to discover job opportunities published by employers.
FindLankan is a platform.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, FindLankan does not itself provide the goods, professional services, employment opportunities or other services advertised or described by third parties using the platform.
Businesses, professionals and employers displayed on FindLankan generally operate independently from FindLankan.
The appearance of a business, professional, employer or job vacancy on FindLankan does not, by itself, constitute an endorsement, recommendation, partnership, agency relationship or guarantee by FindLankan.
Accounts & Eligibility
Certain FindLankan features require a user account.
When creating or using an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account to the extent that the activity results from your use of the account or failure to reasonably protect your login credentials.
You should contact FindLankan if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You must not impersonate another person, business, employer or organisation or create an account using information you are not authorised to use.
Submitting Business & Professional Listings
When submitting a business listing or professional profile, you confirm that you are authorised to submit and publish the information provided.
This means, for example, that you should be the business owner, the professional concerned, an authorised representative, or otherwise have permission to provide the information.
You must not knowingly submit:
- False or materially misleading information.
- Information belonging to another person or organisation without appropriate authority.
- A business or professional profile that you are not authorised to represent.
- Content that infringes another person's rights.
- Unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or otherwise prohibited content.
Posting Job Vacancies
Registered users may be permitted to submit job vacancies for publication on FindLankan.
You do not need to have a business listing on FindLankan in order to post a job unless FindLankan states otherwise for a particular feature.
When posting a job, you confirm that you are the employer, an authorised representative of the employer, an authorised recruiter or otherwise have permission to advertise the vacancy.
You are responsible for the vacancy you post.
Job posters are responsible for ensuring that job advertisements are genuine, accurate, current and authorised.
Job advertisements should accurately describe the vacancy and, where applicable, information such as:
- Job title and category
- Employment type
- Work location or arrangement
- Job description and responsibilities
- Requirements and qualifications
- Salary information where provided
- Benefits where provided
- Application deadline
- Employer or company information
- Application method and contact details
You must not post a vacancy that you know does not exist, has already been filled or has been materially misrepresented.
If a vacancy is no longer available, the job poster should update its status, mark it inactive or otherwise take reasonable steps to prevent applicants from being misled.
Employment and recruitment requirements
Employers and job posters are responsible for ensuring that their recruitment practices, job advertisements, eligibility requirements and employment arrangements comply with applicable laws and requirements.
FindLankan may reject or remove job advertisements that appear unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, discriminatory, unsafe or otherwise inconsistent with these Terms or our Listing Guidelines.
Job Applications & Recruitment
FindLankan helps job seekers discover job vacancies published by employers or other authorised job posters.
FindLankan is not the employer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, FindLankan is not the employer, recruitment agency or hiring representative for third-party job advertisements displayed on the platform.
A job advertisement may direct applicants to contact the employer through email, telephone, WhatsApp, an external application URL or another method provided by the employer.
Any application, interview, employment offer, negotiation, background check, visa process, employment contract or other recruitment activity generally takes place directly between the applicant and the relevant employer or recruiter.
FindLankan does not guarantee:
- That an applicant will receive a response.
- That an applicant will receive an interview or employment offer.
- That a vacancy will remain available.
- The accuracy of every statement made by an employer or recruiter.
- The salary, benefits, working conditions or other employment terms ultimately offered.
- That an employer will proceed with or complete a recruitment process.
Before providing sensitive information, documents or money to an employer, recruiter or other third party, consider verifying who you are dealing with and whether the request is legitimate.
Public Contact Information
FindLankan is a public platform. Information submitted for publication in a business listing, professional profile or job advertisement may be visible to anyone visiting the website.
Public information may include, depending on what you provide:
- Telephone numbers
- WhatsApp numbers
- Public email addresses
- Business or work locations
- Websites
- Social media profiles
- Names and professional information
- Photographs and business images
- Employer and company information
- Job vacancy information
- Application contact information
- External application links
By submitting these details for publication, you acknowledge that visitors may use the published information to contact you or, where relevant, enquire about or apply for a vacancy.
Publicly available information may also be viewed, copied, saved or shared by third parties outside FindLankan's control.
Unsolicited communications
Publishing contact details on a public platform may result in telephone calls, WhatsApp messages, emails or other communications from visitors or other third parties.
FindLankan does not control communications that independent third parties initiate using contact information that a user has chosen to make public.
You should therefore only publish contact information that you are authorised and comfortable making publicly available.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any applicable responsibility for FindLankan's own handling of personal information.
Listing & Job Information Accuracy
Users are responsible for the information they submit and for taking reasonable steps to keep their listings and job advertisements accurate and up to date.
FindLankan may review submitted content, but such review does not mean that every statement, qualification, licence, price, opening hour, salary, benefit, employment condition, vacancy, employer, service, contact detail or other piece of information has been independently verified.
Visitors and job seekers should confirm information that is important to their decision directly with the relevant business, professional, employer or recruiter.
Job vacancies may change, close or be filled without immediate notice to FindLankan.
User-Submitted Content
Users may submit text, logos, photographs, cover images, descriptions, contact details, job information, website links and other material to FindLankan.
You remain responsible for content you submit and must have the necessary rights, permissions and authority to provide and publish it.
By submitting content for publication, you grant FindLankan permission to host, store, display, reproduce and technically process that content as reasonably necessary to operate, display and promote the relevant listing, job advertisement and FindLankan platform.
This permission does not transfer ownership of your original content to FindLankan.
You must not upload material that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights belonging to another person or organisation.
Review & Moderation
FindLankan may review submitted or existing business listings, professional profiles and job advertisements to help maintain the quality, relevance, safety and usefulness of the platform.
Subject to applicable law, FindLankan may reject, request changes to, temporarily hide, suspend or remove content where there is a reasonable basis to believe that it:
- Contains false or misleading information.
- Violates these Terms or the Listing Guidelines.
- May infringe third-party rights.
- Contains inappropriate, harmful or unlawful content.
- Appears fraudulent, deceptive or impersonates another entity.
- Is a duplicate, spam submission or otherwise unsuitable for the platform.
- In the case of a job advertisement, appears to advertise a non-existent, expired, misleading or suspicious vacancy.
FindLankan is not obliged to publish every listing or job advertisement submitted.
Verified Listings
FindLankan may display a verification badge or similar indicator on certain business or professional listings after carrying out checks determined by FindLankan.
Verification is not an endorsement.
A verification badge does not by itself mean that FindLankan recommends, certifies or guarantees the business, professional, products or services associated with the listing.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific verification programme, a verification badge should not be interpreted as:
- A guarantee of identity.
- A professional accreditation.
- A government or regulatory approval.
- A guarantee of licences or qualifications.
- A guarantee of service quality.
- A guarantee of financial reliability.
- A guarantee that a transaction is safe.
Users should still carry out any checks they consider appropriate before engaging a business or professional.
Featured & Promoted Content
FindLankan may offer Featured, promoted, sponsored or otherwise enhanced visibility options for eligible content.
These options may provide additional visibility or placement within the website.
Featured or promoted status does not itself mean that FindLankan endorses or guarantees the business, professional, employer, vacancy, goods or services displayed.
If paid listing, job posting or promotional services are introduced, additional pricing, payment, cancellation or service-specific terms may apply and will be communicated where relevant.
Transactions, Services & Employment Relationships
FindLankan helps users discover and contact independent businesses, professionals and employers.
Unless FindLankan expressly states otherwise for a particular service, FindLankan is not a party to transactions, service arrangements or employment relationships formed between users and third parties discovered through the platform.
This can include:
- Purchases of goods
- Service bookings
- Quotations
- Payments
- Deposits
- Contracts
- Professional engagements
- Job applications
- Interviews
- Employment offers
- Employment contracts
- Salary negotiations
- Visa or employment-related arrangements
- Appointments
- Other commercial arrangements
The relevant parties are responsible for agreeing and verifying the terms of their transaction, service or employment relationship.
Fraud, Scams & User Safety
Users should exercise reasonable care when contacting or dealing with businesses, professionals, employers or recruiters found through any online platform.
Before making payments, sharing sensitive information or entering an important transaction or employment arrangement, you should consider verifying information directly and carrying out any checks appropriate to the circumstances.
Job seekers should use particular caution if someone requests money, banking information, passwords, verification codes or unusually sensitive personal information as part of a recruitment process.
The appearance of a listing or job advertisement on FindLankan does not guarantee that the person submitting it or every statement contained within it has been independently investigated.
If you believe a listing, job advertisement, employer or communication connected with FindLankan is fraudulent, misleading, impersonating another person or organisation, or otherwise unsafe, please report it to FindLankan.
Report a Listing or JobThird-Party Websites & Services
FindLankan may contain links or buttons that direct users to external websites, telephone services, WhatsApp, map services, social media platforms, employer websites and recruitment services.
Job advertisements may contain external application URLs or contact methods supplied by employers or recruiters.
These third-party services are operated independently and may have their own terms, privacy policies and security practices.
FindLankan does not control independent third-party websites or services merely because content on FindLankan links to them.
Prohibited Use
You must not use FindLankan to:
- Engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity.
- Impersonate another person, business, employer or organisation.
- Submit intentionally false or deceptive listings or job advertisements.
- Advertise a job vacancy that you know does not exist.
- Publish misleading salary, employer, location, job-description or application information.
- Use job advertisements primarily to collect personal information for unrelated purposes.
- Use FindLankan to facilitate scams, deceptive recruitment or fraudulent payment requests.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to damage the website.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data.
- Use automated systems to abuse forms, accounts, listings or job functionality.
- Publish content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Use FindLankan in a manner that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
FindLankan Intellectual Property
The FindLankan name, branding, original website design, graphics and original website content may be protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants users ownership of FindLankan's intellectual property.
User-submitted logos, photographs, trademarks, job descriptions and other materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.
Website Availability
We aim to keep FindLankan available and functioning reliably, but website access may occasionally be interrupted due to maintenance, hosting issues, security events, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, FindLankan does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available access to every website feature.
Features may be added, changed, suspended or discontinued as FindLankan develops.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FindLankan is not responsible for losses or damages arising solely from the acts, omissions, goods, services, communications, recruitment activities, employment arrangements or transactions of independent businesses, professionals, employers, recruiters, visitors, applicants or other third parties.
This includes, subject to applicable law, disputes concerning the quality, price, delivery, suitability or performance of goods or services obtained from an independent listing.
In relation to job advertisements, this may include disputes or losses relating to applications, interviews, employment offers, salary or benefits, working conditions, recruitment decisions, employment arrangements or communications between applicants and independent employers or recruiters.
FindLankan does not guarantee that all user-submitted information is complete, current or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, duty, remedy or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Your Responsibility for Submitted Content
You are responsible for content and information that you submit through your account, including business listings, professional profiles and job advertisements.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may be responsible for losses, claims or costs resulting from your unlawful use of FindLankan, your infringement of another person's rights, or content you submitted without the necessary rights or authority.
This provision does not make you responsible for matters caused solely by FindLankan's own conduct.
Account Suspension & Content Removal
Subject to applicable law, FindLankan may restrict, suspend or terminate access to certain account, listing or job-posting features where there is a reasonable basis to believe that a user:
- Has materially violated these Terms.
- Has submitted fraudulent or deceptive information.
- Has posted fraudulent, misleading or non-existent job vacancies.
- Is abusing the website or its users.
- Is creating security or legal risks.
- Is repeatedly violating the Listing Guidelines.
FindLankan may also remove obsolete, duplicate, expired or inactive listings and job advertisements where reasonably necessary to maintain the platform.
Employers may be able to mark their own job vacancies inactive when a position is no longer available.
Changes to FindLankan & These Terms
FindLankan is an evolving service.
We may introduce or change features, listing options, job features, verification systems, Featured content, account functionality and other services.
We may also update these Terms where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to the service, applicable requirements or our operating practices.
The latest revision date will be displayed at the top of this page.
Where appropriate, material changes may be communicated through the website or other reasonable means.
Applicable Law
Your use of FindLankan and these Terms are subject to applicable laws and regulations.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to override mandatory rights, obligations or remedies that apply under applicable law.
